San Antonio Burger Week

Feb 21 – Mar 01, 2020

Here in San Antonio, once a year they do a thing called Burger Week, where participating restaurants offer some of their best burgers for either $5 or $8 dollars and the funds raised goes towards the food bank here in the city. Burgers + $ for a good cause = Deal!

Because of my work schedule and upcoming midterms on campus, I only got to try 3 burgers but it’s better than not having any burgers so no complaining here.

Broadway 5050, Pimento Cheese Burger

I liked the juicy ness of the meat itself at this place; not super greasy where your fingers feel gross and the sliced onions were great; I always can appreciate a nice thick cut red onion slice. The fries were mealy and if you sprinkle their seasoning salt on them, even better!

If you make it out here, you’ll likely run into college kids from the nearby University of the Incarnate Word to chat with, but don’t miss the pool table and the old school arcade games inside, which were fun to play on!

The Simpsons Game!
Nice bar too!

Burger Boy, Double Boy

The Double Boy is exactly that: a double meat patty burger. Simple and delicious, and made to order as well. Their crinkle-cut fries were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and their strawberry chocolate chip shake made me like the strawberry flavor again. They have 3 locations now in SA!

Cheesy Jane’s, Comal Burger

I snagged this burger in between class and work and was hoping that it would fill me up while I worked the rest of the night. Well no problem there! These onions were awesome and not undercooked at all. The cheese was spicy enough to where it wasn’t uncomfortable to eat and flavorful. The staff was really nice as well put it in a box for me to take so I wouldn’t be late for work.

I wish I had been able to get to more burger places, but those are crossed off my list at least and I’ll definitely be trying more around town soon, burger week or not!

Smell ya later!
